ABOUT SARAH
Sarah Smith is an award-winning graphic and digital designer who is passionate about creating sustainable, inclusive and bespoke solutions to complex challenges.
Drawing from her background in town planning and active transport, Sarah brings a unique perspective - combining spatial awareness, problem-solving and creativity to deliver thoughtful, impactful solutions. Her analytical skills and design expertise work together to create results that are both innovative and practical.
She currently works at O’Brien Group Australia, designing for some of Australia and New Zealand’s biggest sporting and entertainment venues and events. Previously she worked at IKEA Richmond where she created in-store graphics and wayfinding as part of the visual communications team. Sarah also works with purpose-driven brands and community organisations on freelance projects, helping them bring their ideas to life with thoughtful, impactful design.
Known for bold colour, strong typography and a love of clean grids, Sarah often incorporates handcrafted elements into her work to give her designs a unique touch. She’s curious, collaborative and always thinking about how design can make everyday experiences better.
Sarah recently graduated with High Distinction from LCI Melbourne, where she received the Student Par Excellence Award for the highest academic performance across all disciplines, as well as the Academic Excellence Award in Graphic and Digital Design. Her work has been recognised by the Australian Graphic Design Association (AGDA) with awards for her UpStage and Nazca Lines projects. When she’s not designing, Sarah is probably out riding her bike - where many of her best ideas begin.
